Reading about the t'internets struggling under the weight of video in this BBC article, I came across a familiar sounding name, Professor Andrew Odlyzko. This took me right back to reading one of his articles in 2001. So, it's time to look back and see an old article that influenced my understanding of the internet back when it was published. The article was Content is not King. Much like the success of SMS over WAP, it's all about doing stuff with each other, communicating and sharing and back then, it just made sense. It still holds true today.

Taken on my new EOS400D using the stock 18-55mm lens reversed and held on by hand.

Click here for the 1280px wide version. Even that's reduced from the 3000+px original. In other news, I can't wait for the moon to come out again. Needs me a shot of the moon with the new camera. Oh boy.

Before I forget, if you're looking for a dedicated server, mine is hosted on 1and1. If you go through that link, you help pay for this site. No, they're not as good as Rackspace, but they're a quarter of the price.

The Antiquorum auction of an amazing amount of vintage Rolex watches set 9 new price records. Not surprisingly, the double-reds and the likes set the highest prices. It was all about decent sports watches with no bling in sight, just the way it should be.

Using a Quidco offer, you can get an iPhone for £69. Yes, you need to sign up for an O2 tariff, but ... come on, it's a £69 iPhone.

Resize the window on this page for a cool parallax effect. It may not work on IE6, but the web industry is past caring about IE6.

While I remember, I'm on Twitter.
I added a skyscraper advert to the domain I use for my mailing lists, the wonderfully-named tit-wank.com, and the first advert it served was this one:
Sorry for smirking.
